The Tampa Bay Lightning could have one prospect representing Canada at the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship. 2019 first round draft pick Nolan Foote was one of 31 players named to Hockey Canada’s selection camp roster on Monday.
Foote has had two successful stints representing Canada internationally. He won silver with Canada Black at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in 2016. He was also a member of the 2017 Canadian Ivan Hlinka Memorial team, which won gold.
2018 second round pick Gabriel Fortier wasn’t named to the selection camp, which was surprising.
