The Lightning has made a trade today - which could be the first of many - dealing minor league goalie Adam Wilcox to the Panthers for veteran goalie Mike McKenna.
Tampa Bay has really given its AHL Syracuse team a boost this week, acquiring scoring forward Byron Froese (Toronto) Monday and now McKenna, 33, a winner who could be impactful in Crunch playoffs.
It has to be tough for the Lightning, however, to part with Wilcox, a sixth round pick in that stout 2011 draft class. Wilcox had a .895 save percentage in 34 games for Syracuse in his second full pro season.
