The Lightning went into the the 2019 NHL Draft with six picks and added one more by trading J.T. Miller to Vancouver.
Here’s a breakdown of who Tampa Bay took:
Nolan Foote
LW, Canada/United States
6-foot-4, 195 pound
Foote joins his brother, defenseman Cal, in the Lightning organization. The Lightning picked Cal 14th overall in 2017 and he spent last season playing with AHL Syracuse. Nolan is a forward in a family of defensemen; their father played 14 seasons and won the Stanley Cup twice with Colorado.
Al Murray, Lightning assistant general manager and director of amateur scouting credited both Footes’ size, saying they know how to play the game.
