GLENDALE, Ariz. — Ben Bishop made team history late Saturday.
With his 32-save performance in a 2-0 victory against the Coyotes, Bishop became the franchise’s all-time leader in shutouts with 15.
Bishop passed Nikolai Khabibulin, who led the Lightning to the Stanley Cup title in 2004, after tying the mark with a 4-0 win against Columbus on March 13.
“That’s exciting. Hopefully we can add to it,” Bishop said during his postgame session with the media, responding to a question about the franchise record that was asked by captain Steven Stamkos.
The victory against Arizona was the 30th of the season for Bishop, making him the only goaltender in franchise history to reach the 30-win milestone in three consecutive seasons.
