After spending the last year watching his players rack up career milestones, Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper found himself in the spotlight following the team’s 3-2 overtime victory over Los Angeles on Tuesday. It was the 500th win of his career.
Coop required the third-fewest games to hit the mark in NHL history with only Scotty Bowman (825 games) and Bruce Boudreau (837 games) needing fewer. He did it in 839 games, which is the fewest anyone has needed to do it with one franchise.
Congrats to Coach Cooper!
