It was a successful weekend for the Syracuse Crunch as they swept the Toronto Marlies on Friday and Saturday. With two more wins, they moved within three points of the Cleveland Monsters with a game in hand. They also managed to add a little distance between them and the third-place Belleville Senators.
On Friday, it was Gabriel Dumont who scored the first goal and the third goal in a 3-2 victory. Daniel Walcott also scored while Hugo Alnefelt stopped 28 of 30 shots. Alex Barré-Boulet added another assist and the team went 1-for-3 on the power play.
After the win in Syracuse, the two teams headed north (or west, I’m not great with geography) for a rematch.
