It’s kind of hard to believe that Brayden Point is in his fifth NHL season already. It was just yesterday that he was a fresh-faced, 20-year-old rookie who skipped over the AHL right into the NHL. Now he’s a grizzled 24-year-old veteran with a Stanley Cup ring and 300 career points. Only 11 other Lightning players have done in franchise history, six of whom he is currently teammates with.
With a power play goal against Carolina on Monday night, Point hit the 300 point mark with 135 goals and 165 assists. He was the third-fastest Bolt to hit the record following Steven Stamkos (302 games) and Nikita Kucherov (337 games).
