The Lightning recalled veteran forward Erik Condra from Syracuse today.
With Brian Boyle a game-time decision with an upper body injury, the team needed some insurance for tonight's game against the Predators. This has to be a great feeling for Condra, 30, who was understandably disappointed to be one of the final cuts in training camp.
Condra, in the second year of a three-year deal, had to pass through waivers to to to the AHL for the first time since 2010-11. The father of two had to leave his family behind in Tampa. But Condra handled the situation like a pro, playing welll for the Crunch, including scoring the game-winner Saturday in the final seconds.
