The Tampa Bay Lighting have re-signed defenseman Jake Dotchin. His contract is for two years. It is a one-way contract both years worth an AAV of $812,500.
Dotchin’s accelerated development was one of the nice surprises that came about thanks to the Lightning’s injury bug last season. Recalled to Tampa from Syracuse for the first time on January 21st, Dotchin was expected to be with the Lighting for just a short time while they examined their options. However, his grit and skill impressed the organization so much that he ended up playing for the Lightning for the remainder of their regular season.
