BRANDON — When Magnus Chrona returned to Sweden after last year’s Lightning development camp, his friend, Hugo Alnefelt, joked maybe he’d be there, too, next time.
Fast forward a year, and the two are sitting one stall apart in the dressing room at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon for this year’s development camp.
“It’s super sick,” Alnefelt said. “We were joking about it. But for it to actually happen, it’s super fun.”
When the Lightning drafted Alnefelt in the third round on Saturday, Chrona (a fifth-round pick in 2018) was quick with a congratulatory text, followed by a phone call later.
