After a great silver medal performance for Team Canada, Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Anthony Cirelli has been traded from the OHL’s Oshawa Generals to the Erie Otters. In return the Generals received Allan McShane, a high-end rookie who so far has put up 23 points in 33 games as a 16 year old, as well as six draft picks ranging from second round to sixth round picks.
Erie is serious about making a run to win the OHL Championship and the national junior hockey title, the Memorial Cup, this year after falling short the past few seasons. General Manager Dave Brown had this to say about the Otters trades and what it means going forward:
"We owe it to this group to make a serious run," Brown said.
