McDavid was disciplined for “intentionally strik[ing] Garland in the head with force”. The Department of Player Safety also noted McDavid’s history (which includes a fine and a priors suspension) in assessing the three-game punishment.
Mere seconds after the Connor-vs-Conor incident, Tyler Myers drilled Evan Bouchard in the face with his stick “that makes direct contact with an opponent’s head with sufficent force to merit supplemental discipline”.
