Lightning lose 2-1 to Edmonton Oilers

A short-handed Tampa Bay Lightning team saw their two-game winning streak come to an end as they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers big guns of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl provided the offense while Stuart Skinner stopped 21-of-22 in the win. At the other end, Andrei Vasilevskiy made 23 stops, including several on breakaways. Jake Guentzel provided the lone goal for the Lightning, who capitalized on one of the few defensive miscues by Edmonton to briefly tie the game in the second period.

Erik Cernak and Anthony Cirelli were ruled out with their injuries, and the defense struggled at times to contain the high-caliber offensive skills of two of the best players in the league.
