DETROIT — The Lightning earned the reputation as one of the league’s faster teams the past two seasons.
But there are times when that speed eludes them.
Such was the case in the Game 3 loss to Detroit on Sunday night in which Tampa Bay was shut out and registered a season-low 16 shots on goal.
The Lightning have shown in the early stages of this series that when they use their speed to get in on the forecheck, they have the ability to put pressure on the Red Wings’ defense, create chances and hem Detroit in its own end.
