Lightning drop game in overtime to Devils, 3-2

Let’s not dwell on this one for too long, folks. In a “game of two faces” as Victor Hedman described it, the Tampa Bay Lightning struggled early, but were kept in the game by the play of their goaltender, Andrei Vasilevskiy. Too many odd-man rushes against left them literally chasing the game, but they were able to claw a point out of the game when Nikita Kucherov tied the game at the 8:05 mark of the third period. Unfortunately, the puck bounced New Jersey’s way in overtime, and Stefan Nosen put home the power-play winner to give the Devils the 3-2 victory.
