Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik faced off against Hillsborough County Superintendent Jeff Eakins on Friday during an unlikely four-on-four street hockey match.
Other teammates included U.S. Women’s Hockey Olympic silver medalist Anne Schleper and 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Jassen Cullimore.
The historic match took place during a street hockey clinic hosted by the Lightning for students at Ferrell Girls Preparatory Academy in Tampa.
Students participated in the clinic during their physical education classes throughout the day. The Lightning supplied all 489 students with a hockey stick and a ball, as well as a buy-one-get-one ticket voucher to a Lightning game.
