A sea of blue-clad fans fans will flood the Channel District for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final tonight, but those Tampa Bay Lightning colors will extend to Garrison Channel, next to Amalie Arena.
The city of Tampa will dye the waterway “Bolts Blue” in honor of the Lightning, who face off against the Chicago Blackhawks at 7:15 tonight.
The electric blue dye, similar to the Kelly green dye used in the Hillsborough River around St. Patrick’s Day, will be poured into the channel just outside the arena at 5 p.m.
The Lightning will pay for the cost of the dye, which is non-toxic and biodegradable.
