WINNIPEG, Manitoba — The depth of the Lightning’s forwards is especially evident early in the season.
Through seven games, Tampa Bay has 23 goals heading into tonight’s game at Winnipeg, tied for the most in the league with Montreal.
And given that the Lightning were the highest-scoring team in the NHL last season, it’s certainly no surprise to again see them near the league leaders early this season.
It’s equally underwhelming to see two-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner Steven Stamkos tied for second in the league in goals scored with five.
But the source of Tampa Bay’s offensive production might catch some off guard.
