After 18 NHL seasons, former Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin is retiring from hockey. The 2004 Stanley Cup champion announced his departure on Friday with plans to become a manager in the KHL.
"I can officially declare that I have completed a hockey career," Khabibulin said. "I had a lot of experience during the years of my career, so I would like it as a use for the good of hockey."
The 42-year-old netminder concludes his NHL career appearing in 799 games with four clubs, posting a 333-334-69 record to go along with a .
