Former Bolt Brett Connolly finding early success with Boston this season

The Lightning’s former first-round draft pick from 2010 is finding his way with Boston after being traded last season.

As the 2015 trade deadline approached, all signs pointed to the Lightning making a deal to solidify its blue line. Although somewhat overshadowed by the trade with the Flyers for Braydon Coburn, Tampa Bay also replenished itself with a pair of second-round draft picks from Boston, parting with one of its longer tenured young forwards.

Brett Connolly came into the Lightning organization at a transitioning time. As the sixth overall selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the former CHL rookie of the year recipient was one of GM Steve Yzerman’s first challenges of reshaping the Lightning before even bringing aboard scouting director Al Murray.
