When Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman lifted forward Jonathan Drouin’s suspension last month, he said he “will do what is best for the team” — even if it meant calling him up.
That apparently is what is best for the ailing Lightning, as Yzerman announced he has recalled Drouin and defenseman Matt Taormina from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
The moves come as the Lightning — which lost captain Steven Stamkos and defenseman Anton Stralman for at least the first round — now are facing injuries to defenseman Victor Hedman and right wing Ryan Callahan.
