Saturday night marked the 23rd season of Syracuse Crunch hockey at the Onondaga County War Memorial Arena and the boys in blue did not disappoint. In front of 6,070 members of the Syracuse faithful, the highly touted new look Crunch skated swiftly past the Rochester Americans to start the new season in the win column. After a defensive stalemate in the first 20 minutes of play, second-year pro Adam Erne was able to solve Rochester goaltender Linus Ullmark sweeping home a loose puck in the crease off of a Dylan Blujus point shot to give the home town team a 1-0 lead.
