ST. LOUIS — When Ben Bishop was traded by his hometown team, the netminder wasn’t exactly singing the blues.
“It could have been a blessing in disguise,’’ said Bishop, who grew up in St. Louis and was drafted in the third round by the Blues in 2005.
Bishop came up through the ranks with the Blues, spending six seasons with St. Louis while making 13 appearances before being traded to Ottawa during the 2011-12 season.
“One of the tougher things to do is come up and play for your home team as a kid. There is a lot of pressure,’’ Bishop said.
