The Lightning opened a four-team prospect tournament with a 5-1 victory against Nashville on Saturday at Germain Arena in Estero.
Mitchell Stephens, the Lightning’s top pick in the 2015 draft, led the way with a pair of goals. Brayden Point, Mathieu Joseph and Cam Darcy also scored.
Kristers Gudlevskis started in goal and stopped 18 shots. He allowed one goal before giving way to Adam Wilcox, who entered midway through the second period. Wilcox picked up the victory, stopping all 15 shots he faced.
Nashville opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 7:33 of the first period, but Tampa Bay scored the next five, starting with Point’s goal at 9:53.
