OTTAWA — After a three-week absence from the lineup, D Jason Garrison figured to ease his way back in as the seventh defenseman.
But midway through Monday’s game at Toronto — Garrison’s first game since suffering a high ankle sprain on Feb. 8 — the Lightning were down to six after D Andrej Sustr left with an apparent hand/wrist injury and did not return.
Garrison ended up playing just under 16 minutes, two minutes less than his season average.
“Coming out of the game I felt pretty good,’’ Garrison said.
With Sustr out for tonight’s game against the Senators, Garrison looks primed to resume his regular role in the defensive rotation.
