Bolts notes: Rays players get chance to skate

TAMPA — Familiar faces skated in new places on the eve of the season opener.

After the Lightning completed their final practice in preparation for Thursday’s opener against Philadelphia, a pair of Tampa Bay Rays pitchers laced up skates and dressed in full gear for a chance to skate at Amalie Arena.

But Jake Odorizzi and Matt Moore hardly looked ready to trade in their baseball gloves for hockey gloves.

“I saw a couple of them out there skating around, but I think they should probably stick to baseball,’’ C Tyler Johnson said, jokingly.

Odorizzi and Moore sat in the stands to watch some of practice before they were taken to the locker room to dress in full gear.
