Bolts notes, Marriage, title help Richards gain new perspective

DETROIT — Former Tampa Bay Lightning cornerstone C Brad Richards has found a new appreciation for life both on and off the ice.

The now two-time Stanley Cup champion after helping Chicago defeat Tampa Bay last season got married over the summer to wife Rechelle, with the ceremony taking place in Hawaii. He has a 1-year old son, Luca, toiling around the house.

And after an 11-year gap between winning championships, he found the second time around that much more rewarding.

“It was pretty special. After getting there the year before (with the New York Rangers) and losing, it brings back so many memories of winning that you want to get right back at it,’’ Richards said.
