TAMPA — After Monday night’s game at Florida, the Lightning became the first team to hit the 20-game mark. At the conclusion of Tuesday’s action, only Calgary had caught Tampa Bay in number of games played.
Coming off a Stanley Cup Final appearance in which the Lightning played until June 15, the heavy early-season schedule might seem a bit overwhelming. That makes the next week a nice respite as Tampa Bay plays three times in a nine-day span, which includes the first three-day break on the schedule.
“Just being at home has been good for us,” Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said.
