DALLAS — Through all the bumps, bruises and broken bones, Brenden Morrow found a way to play during his 16-year NHL career. On Thursday, he faced the toughest thing he’s ever had to battle through — his retirement speech.
Morrow, who finished his career with the Lightning last season, fought off emotions as best he could during a nine-minute speech in which he thanked those who helped him along the way: his parents, his host family while playing junior hockey with the Portland Winterhawks, the Dallas Stars management and staff that gave him his first chance in the NHL and all his former teammates.
