TAMPA — Blasphemy.
How could the highest-scoring line in all of hockey be split up? What in the name of frozen pucks was Jon Cooper thinking when Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov were put on different lines for the start of training camp?
“Training camp, for me, is not about putting together most of the guys who are going to be on your team and leaving everybody else out,’’ Cooper said. “You have to see what other guys can do with NHL players. ...So, I like to split guys up.’’
Have no fear, Tampa Bay Lightning fans.
