An optimistic update on goalie Kristers Gudlevskis

Kristers Gudlevskis injury early last week with the close of the prospect tournament in Estero raised a panic. The club had already lost a goalie before camp had started when Andrei Vasilevskiy was operated on for a blood clot in his shoulder. To lose another netminder in the system to injury (for an unclear extent of time) wasn't exactly comfortable to hear at the time, even if the club had brought in veteran Ray Emery on a professional tryout contract.

News from practice this morning should relieve a degree of concern about the goalie nicknamed "Skittles" and known for a Yak tee-shirt:

Good news on the injury front, Kristers Gudlevskis was a full participant in the first practice session this morning #TBLightning

Gudlevskis went down with an ambiguous upper-body injury during the final game of the prospect tournament.
