ESTERO — Brayden Point enjoyed quite the ride last season.
Point collected a gold medal with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships in Toronto, scored a career-high 38 goals with Moose Jaw in the Western Hockey League and finished the season with Lightning affiliate Syracuse in the American Hockey League, picking up his first professional goal and getting a taste of playoff action.
All of that made the Lightning prospect, drafted in the third round in 2014, a better player leading into this season, which started with a prospect tournament that wrapped up Tuesday at Germain Arena.
