One of the more heralded Tampa Bay Lightning prospects of the last few years made his NHL debut last Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Conor Geekie, the 20-year-old forward who worked his way onto the opening night roster with a strong training camp skated in an NHL game that counted for the first time in his career. On the night he had 14 shifts and totaled 10:07 of ice time with 8:56 coming at even strength and 1:11 of power play time. Despite being heralded for his defensive acumen, he did register a shift shorthanded.
He wasn’t credited with a shot attempts or scoring chance and went 2-for-8 in the face-off dot.
