It was announced last week that the City of Tampa had officially placed a bid to host one of the biggest international hockey tournaments in the world, the 2018 World Junior Championships. If selected, some of the world’s hottest young hockey stars will be making their way to the Bay Area to battle it out on the ice.
While the winning host city will not be announced until sometime towards the end of the year, the City of Tampa has a pretty good reason to smile.
According to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times, Dave Fischer, Senior Director of Communications for USA Hockey, says that “Tampa is very formidable in the conversation.
