The Tampa Bay Lightning are hard at work attempting to improve their blue line before Monday's NHL trade deadline, and GM Steve Yzerman expects to add a defenseman before tomorrow's 3pm EST cutoff.
Per The Fourth Period, "the Bolts have shown interest to Arizona Coyotes defenseman Zbynek Michalek, Edmonton Oilers blueliner Jeff Petry and Colorado Avalanche rearguard Jan Hejda."
At the present moment, Petry and Michalek seem to be Tampa Bay's primary targets. However, it still remains to be seen if Yzerman has targeted other blue line options around the league over the past week or so.
One problem for the Lightning is that they don't have a whole lot of cap space to play with, so they'll have to be judicious with any moves they decide to make.
In addition to help on defense, Yzerman is also reportedly looking for a top-nine winger if he can find one at the right price.
