TEMPE, Ariz. -- It's impossible to tell by looking at him, but whether NFL teams will continue to consider drafting kickers in the first few rounds of the draft in the future rests in front of Zane Gonzalez's right foot.
Gonzalez, the former Arizona State kicker who set six FBS records -- including most career field goals with 96 and most career points with 494 -- in four seasons with the Sun Devils, has the mental and emotional stability of a steel beam.
He doesn't waver. He doesn't bend. He rarely, if ever, shows emotion on the field.
