Williams, Alstott named to Bucs' Ring of Honor

TAMPA — For the first time since, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will induct two players into its Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium this year.

Doug Williams, the first quarterback to lead the Bucs to the playoffs, and Mike Alstott, the fullback who still holds the franchise record for touchdowns, are this year’s honorees, the team announced at a Wednesday afternoon news conference.

The Ring had grown by only one member each year since it began in 2009.

“We think there’s a lot of great candidates,” said Bucs co-chairman Bryan Glazer, whose family owns the team.
