The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and defensive end/outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul agreed to a contract restructuring today, allowing JPP to become a free agent following the season. The Bucs also freed up $4.4-million dollars under this year’s cap. For 2020, the Bucs are no longer on the hook for JPP’s $12.5-million dollar salary.
So what does that mean for the Bucs?
For starters, that does not rule out a return for Pierre-Paul in 2020, it just means the he will get to test the open market and see what his value is.
