The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have struggled against the Dallas Cowboys, and Jameis Winston has not been helping. He’s been inconsistent when actually playing football, but his worst contribution came between plays — when he decided to headbutt Justin Durant, who’d dragged another Bucs player to the ground.
That penalty set the Bucs back 15 yards, and basically ended their chances of turning that possession into a touchdown even though they were in the red zone. It turned second-and-13 into second-and-28, which is generally an insurmountable hurdle. Which is why they settled for a field goal and a 17-6 deficit, instead of a 17-10 one.
