Wide receiver Vincent Jackson has received the fifth annual Salute to Service Award, presented by USAA. The award is presented annually to the NFL player or team employee who has done the most to support members of the military community. Jackson received the award for his efforts to do so, as his Jackson In Action 83 Foundation has focused on supporting military families since 2012. As the son of two parents who have served in the Army for 25 combined years, Jackson has a personal connectio the military.
Jackson has regularly held activities for military families and especially children, publishing a children's book in 2014 called Danny Dogtags: Dealing with Deployment.
