Vincent Jackson has been named the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2016 Man of the Year, which means he’ll be the team’s nominee for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year honor for the fourth consecutive season.
The NFL allows every team to nominate one player for its Man of the Year award, and Jackson has been the Bucs’ representative for four years in a row. The award is handed out for community and philanthropy activities, so the fact that Jackson was barely on the field this year doesn’t have a huge impact on this nomination — though officially, the Walter Payton award recognizes excellence on and off the field both.
