TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have lost to the Carolina Panthers, but their weakened group of cornerbacks actually had one of its better games on Sunday. The Bucs were without four-time Pro Bowler Brent Grimes (shoulder injury) and veteran Robert McClain (concussion), who started on the outside opposite Grimes last week in Buffalo.
Second-year cornerback Vernon Hargreaves, who moved to nickelback last week for a change of scenery and in hopes that he'd play more aggressively, was back on the outside. Ryan Smith, also a second-year player, started opposite him.
