In the spirit of "empowering" female fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team launched a new campaign Thursday called the RED Movement.
For the most part, it's not going over so well on social media.
Fans and sports writers of all genders started tearing down the campaign almost immediately on Twitter, criticizing it for pandering more than empowering.
Greg Auman, Tampa Bay Times Bucs reporter, wrote about the program on the Bucs Beat blog. The abridged description? Fashion tips, lingo explainers and recipes for women fans everywhere. There will be gatherings, too, once the season kicks off this fall.
