The run on defense for the Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft continued in the third round, as the team spent the No. 94 overall pick on a second straight cornerback: Auburn product Jamel Dean.
With the selection of Dean, Tampa Bay added to its young cornerback group that already includes Vernon Hargreaves III, 2018 second-rounder Carlton Davis and 2019 second-rounder Sean Bunting. Like Davis and Bunting, Dean, who stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 206 pounds, fits what defensive coordinator Todd Bowles wants in a cornerback.
