Safeties. I can hear Buccaneers fans groaning at just the mention of the position. Few spots have been more of a stain on the Buccaneers than safeties over the last ten or so years. A once proud position led by John Lynch and Dexter Jackson, the position has since eroded to discount versions of those players.
Fortunately for the Buccaneers, the rest of the NFC South isn’t much better off. There is one king of the group who has already made himself familiar with one particular Tampa Bay receiver, and a few solid starters elsewhere, but mostly it’s a tight race for who is best.
