The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have taken exactly six defensive backs over the last two NFL Drafts. However in a 2020 mock draft published by FanSided’s Patrick Schmidt today, the Buccaneers use their tenth overall pick (determined by betting odds) to select Alabama cornerback Trevon Diggs.
Considering the Buccaneers have put their faith behind Vernon Hargreaves and Carlton Davis while drafting Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean this year, it seems highly unlikely they will once again take a cornerback. However, that was also said this year entering the 2019 NFL Draft.
At the tenth pick in the draft, however, may mean the Buccaneers have a good enough record and a good enough performance from Jameis Winston to keep him around after his contract year.
