Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kwon Alexander’s emergence is a good thing for Bruce Carter

Earlier this week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted rookie Kwon Alexander to the starting middle linebacker position. The move caused a domino effect on the depth chart and a whirlwind of labels to get thrown around. Has Alexander really been that impressive? Apparently so. Should the signing of Bruce Carter be deemed a failure? This couldn’t be further from the truth.

When Carter was signed by the Buccaneers, the expectation was that he would assume the Mike role. Even though he has shown an ability to play all linebacker spots, the 27-year-old has been most comfortable (and successful) as a Sam linebacker.
