TAMPA — Eager to fill their need for an impact edge pass rusher, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scheduled to meet this week with former Panthers end Charles Johnson, sources close to the situation said.
Johnson, who averaged 10 sacks per year over a five-season span before struggling through an injury-plagued season in 2015, was scheduled to visit the Giants on Sunday.
The Bucs are on the lookout for help at the defensive end spot after three defensive ends combined for just 15 sacks at that position last year, when the Bucs ranked 14th in the NFL in sacks with 38.
