One more game, and then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ season is finally over. The Bucs were eliminated from the playoffs long ago, and the main question was whether Dirk Koetter could win enough games to save his job. Turns out he didn’t need to win: the Bucs decided on Friday to keep their head coach.
That makes today’s game against the New Orleans Saints particularly meaningless for the Bucs, who stand to lose or gain a few spots in the 2017 NFL draft—and that’s about it. Of course, a win would give them some positive feeling, and it’s a lot more fun to watch a win, but in terms of tangible implications: nada.
