TAMPA, Fla. -- Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers punter Michael Koenen says drinking tainted performance water contributed to him losing his job with the team.
In a FOX Sports report published Thursday, Koenen said drinking the product made him sick and that the illness -- which persists to this day -- was partially to blame for a career-low average of 40.4 yards per punt last year. In the report, he said he received a recall notice at his home because of the possibility that the product was contaminated with mold and yeast spores.
The Bucs released Koenen on Sept.
